Meet Capt. Bryce Michel

Capt. Bryce Michel is a true son of Louisiana’s bayou country. Born and raised in South Terrebonne Parish, he has spent more than 40 years navigating the marshes, bays, and coastal waters that make this region one of the greatest inshore fisheries in the world.

Before dedicating his life to guiding, Bryce proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, spending time stationed in Germany before being called to support Operation Desert Storm in 1991. The discipline, leadership, and attention to detail he developed during his military service continue to define the way he operates TopWater Charters today.

After returning home, Bryce turned his lifelong passion for fishing into a profession, earning his U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License and building what has become one of Louisiana’s premier all-inclusive fishing destinations. What started with a single camp in Cocodrie has grown into a private waterfront campus featuring 20 private bedrooms and 20 private bathrooms, a fleet of world-class bay boats, and a team of more than 20 experienced captains—all dedicated to delivering an unmatched guest experience.

Bryce has built TopWater Charters around one simple philosophy: we will not be out-serviced. Whether hosting corporate retreats, client appreciation events, bachelor parties, or family gatherings, his mission remains the same—to provide exceptional fishing, authentic Cajun hospitality, and an all-inclusive experience that keeps guests coming back year after year.
